Will Social Security be there for you when your turn comes? It is hard to imagine future new retirees not demanding payments for themselves. But Social Security could be different – you might have to wait longer to start collecting (age 70?), and the annual inflation adjustments might be smaller. Either or both of these would put the system back in balance. When you do your retirement planning, make sure to take these possible modifications into account.
